David Ellis is a managing director in FTI’s Economic Consulting practice, and is based in the London office. Prior to this, he was a Director with Navigant Consulting and an Associate Director with NERA Economic Consulting. Previously, he was a finance professor at Babson College and Texas A&M University.
Experience
In litigation his areas of expertise include the evaluation and valuation of the pricing and risk of complex securities, asset backed securities, swaps, and other derivatives; credit risk; hedge funds; cross-border leasing; broker compliance; evaluating insurance products; tax and bankruptcy issues related to leases and complex financial instruments; and market structure issues in stock, bond and derivatives markets. His work has involved both liability and damage assessments.
He has testified on over 25 occasions in both litigation and arbitration; venues include the UK High Court, US Federal and State courts, the New Zealand High Court, the London Court of International Arbitration, the American Arbitration Association, the World Trade Organisation and FINRA arbitration panels.
His institutional experience includes working at Salomon Brothers in Institutional Fixed Income Sales and Trading. David has over 10 years experience in bringing economic and financial analysis to complex commercial and regulatory disputes.
